Cancel­la­tion of two fan high­lights

The NHL is dispensing with the All-Star Game and the traditional Winter Classic this season due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The outdoor game between the Minnesota Wild, Marco Rossi's team, and the St. Louis Blues, the 2019 Stanley Cup winners, had been scheduled for New Year's Day at Minneapolis' baseball stadium.

The All-Star Weekend would have taken place at the end of January in Sunrise, Florida. The new NHL season will not begin before January due to the pandemic.

While the All-Star Game could be held with fans again in 2022, ice hockey fans will have to wait until at least 2023 for the next Winter Classic due to the 2022 Winter Olympics.
