Bregenzerwald claim surprisingly emphatic home win over Kitzbühel
EC Bregenzerwald claimed an emphatic 5:2 victory over Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel in the only Alps Hockey League game on Wednesday. It was the first defeat after five consecutive wins for the fourth-placed Tyroleans. Before the game, Kitzbühel announced the signing of Anthony DeLuca.

A total of five different scorers got on the scoresheet for EC Bregenzerwald. The Vorarlberg side took a 1:0 lead into the first intermission. After 40 minutes, the eleventh-placed side were 3:1 ahead, and the “Wälder” extended their lead to 5:1 in the final period. In the end, Bregenzerwald celebrated their first win in the third meeting of the season with Kitzbühel, as well as their first victory after three consecutive defeats.
Before the game, Kitzbühel announced the signing of Anthony DeLuca. The 29-year-old has been given a contract until the end of the season. DeLuca played in the Alps Hockey League for Gröden last season and was the league’s clear top scorer with 50 goals.
