Austrian Women’s Cham­pi­onship: Title decider between Graz Huskies and Sabres St. Pölten on LIVE.eishockey.at

In the past 22 championships, the Sabres have won the title no fewer than 18 times. The Ravens Salzburg ended the streak twice, the 2020 championship was cancelled due to coronavirus, and last year the KSV Neuberg Highlanders entered the roll of champions for the first time. In this year's final, SKN Sabres St. Pölten are looking to usher in a new era. Standing in their way are EC Graz Huskies, who eliminated defending champions Neuberg Highlanders with an 8:1 result in the semi-finals and won both season meetings with the Sabres.

This final pairing is a first in the history of the Austrian Championship. The Graz side reached the final in their very first season and now want to claim the crown. The Huskies won both games in the regular season. The Sabres have therefore assigned the favourites’ tag to the Styrian side.

For the newly Lower Austrian side, the final marks a return after a one-year absence, following their move to St. Pölten. On Friday, the record champions are planning to make history, as no Lower Austrian ice hockey club, women’s or men’s, has ever been Austrian champion!

In the game for 3rd place, KEHV Lakers and KSV Neuberg Highlanders will also face each other on Friday from 19:30.
