Austrian Women’s Cham­pi­onship: High­landers and Lakers reach the final

In the semi-finals, the Highlanders prevailed against SPG Kitzbühel/Kufstein, while the Lakers confidently overcame DEC Salzburg Eagles.

Since the inaugural 2001/2002 season, the Sabres have won the title 18 times. With the dominant force sitting out this season, others now have their chance. Having lost to the Sabres in last year’s final, Neuberg Highlanders have also won bronze on six occasions. The Lakers have won the third-place play-off twice and have the bronze medals from the 2018/2019 and 2020/2021 seasons in their trophy cabinet.

In the European Women´s Hockey League, the Highlanders recorded two victories, winning 3:2 away from home and 4:1 in front of their home crowd. That is all in the past, as the saying goes.

The final, as well as the game for 3rd place, will take place on 25 and 26 March.
