Austria’s women lose friendly in Fondo to hosts Italy by a clear 0:5

Clinical – that is how the Italians proved to be, making the most of their chances. The hosts’ opening goal came on a counter-attack 8 minutes in. Austria also conceded two goals from rebounds.
However, the match was anything but one-sided. The Austrians recorded the same number of shots on goal, particularly in the second and third periods. They were simply unable to convert the chances they created.
Instead of a deserved goal to pull one back, Italy extended their lead to 5:0 in the second period and saw out the win. The key now is to quickly draw the right conclusions and put them into practice in front of a home crowd against the Bethel University Royals on Tuesday.
After the game, praise was given to the debutants in the red-white-red squad, who improved shift by shift and also made their mark on several occasions.
