Austria's U18 women beat France 3:2 in over­time in World Cham­pi­onship warm-up game

The score remained 0:0 for a long time at the ice rink in the Sportareal Leithana before Emma Lintner gave Austria a 1:0 lead with 56 seconds remaining in the second period (40.). Hana Ostadal added Austria's 2:0 just under two minutes into the final period (42.). With two penalties in quick succession, Austria found themselves short-handed 3:5. France capitalised on the two-player advantage to pull one back for 1:2 through Armelle Chabert (48.).

Exactly nine minutes before the end of the game, Les Bleus even equalised at 2:2 through Domitille Ratto (52.). Austria were short-handed again one and a half minutes before the final siren, but held on to force overtime. Valentina Prosen scored the winning goal to make it 3:2 immediately after the penalty had expired, exactly 62 seconds into overtime (62.).

The ÖEHV delegation moves on to Budapest on 4 January, where Italy await in the World Championship opener on Sunday, 5 January, from 12:30. Austria face warm-up opponents France on Friday, 10 January. Before that, Austria play Germany on Monday, followed by the game against Norway on Wednesday. In their final World Championship game, Head Coach Mario Bellina's team will face hosts Hungary next Saturday.
