Antonia Matzka named to Team World

A total of 45 players were selected and split into three teams comprising 15 American, Canadian and international talents. Antonia Matzka is among them, having made the direct leap from college to the PHF.

The All-Star Event begins at 19:00 local time at the Mattamy Athletic Centre and will be broadcast live in the USA on ESPN2 and in Canada on TSN, TSN.ca and the TSN app.

"The selected players have earned this honour and are highly motivated to represent their countries and the new PHF era on the All-Star stage, which should make for an exciting and entertaining ice hockey weekend,"Reagan Carey, PHF Commissioner, is convinced.

Of the 45 selected players, 24 are PHF newcomers, led by top scorers Loren Gabel of the Boston Pride and Brittany Howard of the Toronto Six. Boston's Elizabeth Giguère and Corinne Schroeder are also among a talented group of first-year professionals, including Natalie Snodgrass of the Minnesota Whitecaps and Jade Downie-Landry of the Montreal Force, who have immediately established themselves in the PHF after successful college careers.

17 PHF veterans with previous All-Star experience will take part in the tournament, including Madison Packer of the Metropolitan Riveters, who will participate in an All-Star tournament for the sixth time. Boston's Jillian Dempsey and Kaleigh Fratkin have both been named All-Stars for the fifth time after winning the title together in 2022, as have Buffalo's Dominique Kremer and Connecticut's Kennedy Marchment, both of whom have been selected for the second time. Four players with previous PHF experience will also make their first All-Star Game appearances, including Toronto's Kati Tabin, Minnesota's Saroya Tinker, Tereza Vanišová and Denisa Křížová.

25 All-Stars with senior national team experience will take to the ice, including all 15 players on the international roster, which features talent from Austria, China, the Czech Republic, Finland, Hungary and Sweden. Křížová, Dominika Lásková (Toronto), Kateřina Mrázová (Connecticut) and Aneta Tejralová (Boston) all won bronze at the 2022 IIHF Women's World Championship. Montreal's Ann-Sophie Bettez has also won World Championship bronze, when Team Canada won the title in 2019, while the United States have 2018 Olympic champions in Boston's Kali Flanagan, Minnesota's Sidney Morin and Riveters player Amanda Pelkey in their ranks.

The Pride and Riveters lead the list with nine players each, followed by T6 with eight, the Whitecaps with six, the Whale with five, and the Force and Beauts with four players each. The All-Stars were selected by the league in consultation with staff from all PHF teams. The coaches of the three teams will be announced at a later date, as will the team captains, who will be determined by their teammates.
