Both will serve as board members, with Andreas Ösze acting as the representative of the regional associations and Bernhard Tschrepitsch taking responsibility for marketing and sponsorship matters.
“Given the Federation’s wide-ranging activities and areas of responsibility, we recognised the need to prepare ourselves for the coming years and the tasks ahead. By expanding the Executive Board, the Austrian Ice Hockey Federation is more broadly and, above all, more professionally positioned. In Bernhard Tschrepitsch and Andreas Ösze, we have been able to attract and secure our preferred candidates. Andreas Ösze has been involved in ice hockey administration for 25 years, has held various positions within the Vienna Ice Hockey Association, and is the spokesperson and voice of the regional associations. Bernhard Tschrepitsch will take on the newly created position for marketing and sponsors on the Executive Board. Through his professional role as a member of the ORF Foundation Board, Bernhard is exceptionally well connected and will deepen our relationship with our contractual partner ORF,” explains ÖEHV President Klaus Hartmann.
With immediate effect, the ÖEHV Executive Board therefore consists of six people.
Bernhard Tschrepitsch to be responsible for marketing and sponsors in future In spring 2020, Bernhard Tschrepitsch was appointed by the Federal Government as an independent member of the ORF Foundation Board. Born and raised in Carinthia, the 50-year-old moved to Vienna in 1992 to study business administration and theology. Following roles as a teacher, at Creditanstalt AG and Raiffeisen LB NÖ-Wien, Bernhard Tschrepitsch is now Secretary General of Akademikerhilfe. His two sons are also involved in ice hockey – as a referee and a player.
Bernhard Tschrepitsch: “I will commit myself to the ÖEHV with all my strength.”
Andreas Ösze: “Strengthening the sense of unity” Although Andreas Ösze never played ice hockey himself during his career, he has otherwise held virtually every role in ice hockey, from equipment manager to referee and, ultimately, administrator. The 52-year-old is currently President of the Vienna Ice Hockey Association and, in that capacity, is in close contact with his colleagues from the other regional associations.
For Andreas Ösze himself, his appointment as a board member is the crowning achievement of his administrative career: “I feel very honoured.”
In his future role, his focus will be on what unites people: “I have a good feel for administrators, know how to communicate important issues and how to defuse conflicts. I want to be the connecting link that strengthens the sense of unity, and I will take care of the leagues below the professional leagues and recruitment, meaning attracting new members.”
Infrastructure is another important concern for him. More arenas are to be built across the country.
