Adler Kitzbühel throw the door to the Master Round wide open – Zell draw level with Ritten

EK Die Zeller Eisbären claimed a 3:2 win over SIJ Acroni Jesenice in Thursday’s top clash, drawing level with leaders Ritten in the standings. At the same time, Kitzbühel recorded a comfortable 5:1 victory over the Unterland Cavaliers, putting the Adler one foot in the Master Round. Meanwhile, KHL Sisak remain in the race for the top 5 after beating Celje. Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan also prevailed against the Red Bull Hockey Juniors.

EK Die Zeller Eisbären secured a hard-fought 3:2 victory in the top clash against SIJ Acroni Jesenice. Following a scoreless opening period in Slovenia, the home side struck first – twice. However, the “Eisbären” stepped up the pressure in the final period, scoring twice by the 51 mark to level the score at 2:2 and get themselves back into the game. The visitors from Salzburg remained clinical, with Robin Johansson eventually sealing the win in the 55 minute.


Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel have thrown the door to the Master Round wide open. The Kitzbühel side recorded a comfortable victory over the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers on Thursday evening. Jakob Lippitsch set his team on course early on with a double. Jayson Ren made it 3:0 in the second period before Lippitsch – also in the middle period – completed his hat-trick to all but settle the contest. Kitzbühel ultimately won 5:1, moving within striking distance of third-placed Jesenice.


KHL Sisak remain in the race for the Master Round after beating HK RST Pellet Celje. However, the visitors from Celje took the lead on Thursday evening. Sisak equalised late in the first period, setting the turnaround in motion. Two quick goals at the start of the middle period gave them a 3:1 lead after two periods. Although Celje increased the pressure in the final period, they were unable to score again. Sisak eventually prevailed 4:1.


Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan beat the Red Bull Hockey Juniors 3:1. After a scoreless opening period, Connor Savido gave the Broncos the lead right at the start of the middle period. Not long afterwards, the young Salzburg side equalised on the power play. The Broncos regained the lead later in the same period and ultimately prevailed 3:1.
